Google confirms Metro style Chrome for Windows 8

According to Google:

Our goal is to be able to offer our users a speedy, simple, secure Chrome experience across all platforms, which includes both the desktop and Metro versions of Windows 8.

When i was playing with the developer preview, i installed Chrome on the desktop since i wanted to actual make Windows 8 useful.(IE10 was horrible in that dev preview edition)

One of the things i notices was the lack of flash support in metro, and the fact that the browser in metro seemed to be locked to IE. This announcement means we will probably see the same for Firefox.

As we currently use Chrome as the default browser for Digital Physician EHR, i have a vested interest in playing with this. Also i happen to love the new metro interface, and secretly want Microsoft to make a killing on Windows 8 for tablets. =)

According to Slashgear, the new browser on metro will be touch enabled and have some features taken from WEBOS.
